Record Lectures in Classroom

The OIT installed an automated classroom recording system in four DeBartolo Hall classrooms in summer 2014. This opt-in system allows faculty to record a class lecture. It will capture all projector content, as well as any of the activity happening at the front of the room.

Once the recording is complete, it is automatically uploaded to a server which students can access through Sakai on any device a few hours after class ends. This system allows students to concentrate on the lecture content as it is presented rather than taking notes, and then later they can review the content they missed or did not fully understand so they don’t fall behind.

The OIT supports 157 Registrar-controlled classrooms through the integration of technology to support teaching, learning, and scholarship.
